Proposal for Singapore Psychological Society to Report to Allied Health Professional Council

11 Mr Yip Hon Weng asked the Minister for Health whether the Singapore Psychological Society can report to or be made accountable to the Allied Health Professional Council, to reflect the growing need for accessible and accountable mental health care services.

Mr Ong Ye Kung: The real issue is whether psychologists should be regulated, given the increased importance of mental wellness as a national issue. This is currently under discussion between MOH, agencies, service providers and professional associations, such as the Singapore Psychological Society.
