Speakers

Transcript

72 Dr Choo Pei Ling asked the Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Minister for Health (a) what longitudinal studies are planned to assess the developmental impact of Grow Well SG; (b) what qualitative assessment metrics are used to evaluate outcomes; and (c) whether findings from these studies will be made publicly available to inform future policy development.

Mr Ong Ye Kung: We assess the impact of Grow Well SG by monitoring and assessing the long-term impact of healthy lifestyle habits on the children's health outcomes.

To do so, we track indicators such as the amount of time spent on screens, physical activity and sleep, as these have shown to have an impact on the health and development outcomes of children. We will also conduct surveys to measure parental awareness on healthy habits to evaluate and refine our initiatives and resources for Grow Well SG. Building healthy lifestyle habits is a lifelong process, and we will continue to monitor these efforts on an ongoing basis. We will share insights when ready.
