Number of PUB Enforcement Inspectors for Investigating Unlicensed Plumbing Works

49 Mr Gerald Giam Yean Song asked the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment (a) what is the current manpower strength of enforcement inspectors within PUB tasked with investigating unlicensed plumbing works; (b) in the past year, how many reports of unlicensed plumbing works have been received; and (c) how many enforcement actions have been taken against unlicensed plumbers.

Ms Grace Fu Hai Yien: The Public Utilities Board (PUB) has a standing team of enforcement inspectors, and flexibly deploys other officers as necessary to investigate reports of unlicensed plumbing works.

In the past year, PUB detected 47 unlicensed plumbing works. Of these cases, PUB has taken 46 enforcement actions, with one case under investigation.
