Mothers Diagnosed with Post-natal Depression in Past Three Years

42 Ms Hany Soh asked the Minister for Health (a) for the past three years, how many mothers have been diagnosed to be suffering from post-natal depression; and (b) how many of these mothers are first-time parents.

Mr Ong Ye Kung: From 2018 to 2020, based on the data available, an average of about 290 women per year sought care for post-natal depression at the public hospitals. About one out of three of these women were first-time mothers.
