Impact on COE Prices Resulting from Ban for Three Years on Sale of Vehicles Bought for Ride-hailing Services

6 Ms Mariam Jaafar asked the Minister for Transport in light of the new rule which requires businesses that acquire private-hire cars meant for ride-hailing services to keep them for three years before they can be converted or transferred to individuals to ensure a steady supply of ride hailing vehicles, whether a study has been done on the impact of the new rule on private-hire cars on the COE market and COE prices.

As I mentioned yesterday in my reply to Ms Hazel Poa's Parliamentary Question, the Ministry of Transport will be providing more details regarding the review of the point-to-point transport sector at the upcoming Committee of Supply debate.
