60 Mr Dennis Tan Lip Fong asked the Minister for Transport whether he can provide an update on the progress of the construction of the extended cycling path network and the delay to be expected given the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 crisis.
Mr Ong Ye Kung: Due to COVID-19, which affected the availability of cycling path construction materials and workers, there may be delays of up to 12 months for the completion of cycling path projects.
The Government remains committed to tripling our cycling paths from 460km now to around 1300km by 2030, under the Islandwide Cycling Network. This will support the uptake of active mobility in a way that is safe and convenient for all path users.
