45 Mr Chua Kheng Wee Louis asked the Acting Minister for Transport (a) what is the number of cases where the installation of on-board units (OBUs) under the ERP 2.0 system turned out to be faulty since installation started in November 2023; (b) what is the distribution of such cases by workshops; and (c) whether measures have been taken against workshops where OBU installations have been deemed to be unsatisfactory.

Mr Jeffrey Siow: About 9,000 cars have required a return to the workshop for rectification works so far.

All installations are carried out by trained technicians in authorised workshops. The cases are evenly distributed across the workshops. To maintain consistency of standards, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) regularly audits the workshops, especially those with negative feedback. LTA also provides re-training and resourcing such as installation manuals for the technicians.
