Extending Temporary Fuel Support Measures Beyond June 2026 to Government-contracted Transport Services and Private Ambulance Operators
Ministry of HealthSpeakers

21 Mr Yip Hon Weng asked the Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Minister for Health (a) whether the temporary support measures for Government-contracted transport services which ended in June 2026, will be renewed amid the ongoing fuel price spikes; and (b) whether these support measures will be extended to other private ambulance operators to mitigate the impact of potential fuel price increases on Social Service Agencies and patients in need.
Mr Ong Ye Kung: There are currently no plans to extend the temporary support measures for transport services beyond June 2026. We recognise that transport operators and care providers may have to raise fees if fuel prices remain elevated. The Ministry of Health will continue to ensure care remains affordable for patients through means-tested long-term care subsidies, which MOH recently enhanced from 1 July 2026.
