54 Ms Valerie Lee asked the Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs whether, in addition to the upcoming mosque in Tampines North, there are any plans to establish new mosques within Pasir Ris-Changi GRC.

Assoc Prof Dr Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim: The Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) regularly reviews the capacity of mosques across Singapore to ensure adequate provision of prayer spaces for the Muslim community.

There are currently no plans to build new mosques within Pasir Ris-Changi Group Representation Constituency (GRC). The community in the area is served by several mosques, including Al-Istighfar in Pasir Ris, Darul Ghufran in Tampines and Al-Taqua in Bedok, with the upcoming mosque in Tampines North providing additional capacity in the future. These mosques have also implemented multiple prayer sessions to manage peak demand on Fridays and during Hari Raya Prayers. MUIS remains committed to ensuring that the religious needs of the community are adequately met.
