85 Dr Hamid Razak asked the Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Minister for Health whether the Ministry will consider establishing a policy framework for Goods and Services Tax (GST) relief on essential medications used to treat rare or complex conditions, particularly where patients face high out-of-pocket costs and limited treatment options.

Mr Ong Ye Kung: The Government absorbs Goods and Services Tax for medical services and medications for subsidised patients at Government-funded public hospitals, polyclinics and intermediate and long-term care institutions.
