Enhancing ActiveSG App to Provide Real-time Updates on Closures of Swimming Pools

22 Mr Ong Hua Han asked the Minister for Culture, Community and Youth whether the Ministry plans to enhance the ActiveSG app to provide real-time updates on closures of swimming pools due to bad weather and, if so, what is the timeline for implementing this improvement.
Mr Edwin Tong Chun Fai: Sport Singapore (SportSG) uses real-time information from the National Environment Agency (NEA)'s Lightning Information Service to decide the closure of ActiveSG swimming pools. This information is also available to the public through NEA’s myENV app.
SportSG will consider incorporating this information in its future upgrades of the ActiveSG app so that it is more convenient to its users.
