Enforcement Data on Dangerous Riding by Shared-bicycle Users Versus Other Cyclists, and Mandatory In-app Safety Modules for First-time Users

Speakers

Transcript

57 Mr Alex Yeo asked the Minister for Transport (a) whether enforcement data on dangerous riding distinguishes shared-bicycle users from other cyclists; (b) if so, what is the number of dangerous riding cases for each category over the last three years; and (c) whether the Ministry is considering any steps to raise awareness of safe riding by shared-bicycle users, such as making in-app safety modules mandatory before first use.

Mr Jeffrey Siow: Enforcement data on reckless riding on public paths and roads does not distinguish between shared-bicycle users and other cyclists.

Shared bicycle operators have introduced initiatives to promote safe riding practices, such as in-app safety modules and push notifications on safe riding.
