Effectiveness and Adequacy of School Counsellors and Factors Determining Expansion

47 Ms Eileen Chong Pei Shan asked the Minister for Education (a) what timeline and process governs the Ministry's regular review of school counsellor allocation adequacy; (b) what specific indicators will prompt expansion; and (c) how does the Ministry ensure equitable access across schools with different demographic profiles.

48 Ms Eileen Chong Pei Shan asked the Minister for Education (a) how does the Ministry evaluate the effectiveness of the current ecosystem comprising trained counsellors, flexi-adjunct counsellors, teacher-counsellors and peer support networks in meeting students' mental health needs; and (b) what measures are being taken to understand barriers to access and improve help-seeking behaviour among students.
