Education Campaign on Actual Insurance Needs and Means-testing for Integrated Shield Plan Holders
Ministry of HealthSpeakers
Transcript
32 Mr Yip Hon Weng asked the Minister for Health (a) whether the Ministry will consider conducting an education campaign to guide the public on their actual insurance needs, considering that a significant proportion of patients with the Integrated Shield Plan (IP) and rider protection opt for subsidised public healthcare despite paying for higher coverage; and (b) whether the Ministry will consider any means-testing mechanisms to encourage IP holders or those with rider protection to utilise private healthcare options, thereby potentially alleviating strain on subsidised healthcare.
Mr Ong Ye Kung: The question has been addressed in my oral reply to Parliamentary Question Nos 16 to 20 on the Order Paper for 6 August 2024.
