80 Mr Abdul Muhaimin Abdul Malik asked the Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs in light of the Intergenerational Mobility report by the Centre for Research on Islamic and Malay Affairs (a) whether MENDAKI tracks data on the number of first-generation Malay graduates per academic year; and (b) if so, how many come from lower income families or are recipients of MENDAKI Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy.

Mr Zaqy Mohamad: The Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy scheme supports around 10,000 Malay students annually over the past five years. Earlier this year, the income eligibility criteria have been revised across all tiers to provide greater support for lower-income households. Yayasan MENDAKI does not track the number of first-generation Malay graduates.
