Data Collection for Household Sector Balance Sheet at Household and Income Decile Levels

5 Mr Cai Yinzhou asked the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry whether the Ministry will consider collecting data for the Household Sector Balance Sheet at the household level and disaggregating the data by household income deciles.

Mr Gan Kim Yong: In line with international practice, the Singapore Department of Statistics compiles the Household Sector Balance Sheet using aggregated data from firms and institutions. As such, it would not be possible to disaggregate the Household Sector Balance Sheet data by household income deciles.
