Children Who Did Not Secure Placement in 2025 Primary 1 Registration Exercise

96 Ms Hany Soh asked the Minister for Education how many children have not successfully secured a placement for their Primary 1 education in 2026 and what are the reasons so.

Mr Desmond Lee: All Singaporean children who participated in the 2025 Primary 1 (P1) Registration Exercise have secured a place in a national primary school for P1 in 2026.

There are about 2,880 Singaporean children who did not participate in the 2025 P1 Registration Exercise. Most of these children are either residing overseas, seeking exemption from compulsory education or are in the process of applying for or have received placement in special education schools.
