Breakdown of Singapore Companies with More than 100 and 1,000 Employees in 1965, 1975, 1985, 1995, 2005 and 2015

10 Ms Sun Xueling asked the Minister for Manpower (a) what is the number of companies in Singapore which hire more than 100 employees in 1965, 1975, 1985, 1995, 2005 and 2015 respectively; and (b) what is the total number of employees hired by these companies in 1965, 1975, 1985, 1995, 2005 and 2015 respectively.

11 Ms Sun Xueling asked the Minister for Manpower (a) what is the number of companies in Singapore which hire more than 1,000 employees in 1965, 1975, 1985, 1995, 2005 and 2015 respectively; and (b) what is the total number of employees hired by these companies in 1965, 1975, 1985, 1995, 2005 and 2015 respectively.

Mr Lim Swee Say: The number of private sector establishments⁴ that hire more than 100 employees⁵ and more than 1,000 employees is provided in Table 1 below.

The corresponding number of employees hired by these private sector establishments is provided in Table 2 below.
