Speech Time for the Leader of the Opposition

The Leader of the House (Ms Indranee Rajah): Mr Speaker, I move, that notwithstanding Standing Order 48(8), with effect from this day's Sitting until the end of the 15th Parliament, the Leader of the Opposition Mr Pritam Singh shall be entitled to speak for up to 40 minutes on any question in Parliament. This is to allow Mr Pritam Singh, as the Leader of the Opposition for the 15th Parliament, the privilege of a longer speaking duration for speeches, as mentioned in my Ministerial Statement earlier.

Question put, and agreed to.

Resolved, "That, notwithstanding Standing Order 48(8), with effect from this day's Sitting until the end of the 15th Parliament, the Leader of the Opposition Mr Pritam Singh shall be entitled to speak for up to 40 minutes on any question in Parliament".
