Summary

This motion concerns the formal approval of total sums for the Main and Development Estimates for the financial year beginning 1 April 2016. The Committee of Supply approved $82,389,729,300 for Main Estimates and $32,161,255,600 for Development Estimates as contained in Paper Cmd 2 of 2016. Senior Minister of State Ms Indranee Rajah reported that the Committee had reached these resolutions and moved for Parliament’s official agreement on the proposed expenditures. Mdm Speaker resumed the Chair of the House to receive the report after the Committee of Supply concluded its specific financial deliberations. Parliament subsequently voted and agreed to the resolutions, finalizing the legal supply of funds to the Government for the specified public services.

Question, "That the sum of $32,161,255,600 shall be supplied to the Government under the Heads of Expenditure for the public services shown in the Development Estimates for the financial year 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017 contained in Paper Cmd 2 of 2016," put and agreed to.

The Senior Minister of State for Finance (Ms Indranee Rajah): Mdm Speaker, I beg to report that the Committee of Supply has come to certain resolutions.

First resolution reported –

"That the sum of $82,389,729,300 shall be supplied to the Government under the Heads of Expenditure for the public services shown in the Main Estimates for the financial year 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017, contained in Paper Cmd 2 of 2016."

Second resolution reported –

"That the sum of $32,161,255,600 shall be supplied to the Government under the Heads of Expenditure for the public services shown in the Development Estimates for the financial year 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017, contained in Paper Cmd 2 of 2016.

Ms Indranee Rajah: Mdm Speaker, I beg to move, "That Parliament doth agree with the Committee on the said resolutions."
