Motion

Amendments to Supplementary Estimates of Expenditure for FY2021/2022

Speakers

Summary

This motion concerns the request by Leader of the House Ms Indranee Rajah to amend the Supplementary Estimates of Expenditure for FY2021/2022 to increase the allocation of sums. The proposed amendments are necessary to provide additional support measures for workers and businesses following the recent reversion to Phase Two (Heightened Alert) restrictions. These measures supplement previous funding for earlier restrictions as detailed in Ministerial Statements by the Minister for Finance on 5 July and 26 July 2021. By amending Heads of Expenditure L and Z, the House is enabled to vote on the increased funds required for these additional measures in the Committee of Supply. The Deputy Speaker granted consent, and with the general assent of Members, the motion was agreed to and resolved.
