Amendments to Supplementary Estimates of Expenditure for FY20/21

The Leader of the House (Ms Grace Fu Hai Yien): Mr Speaker, may I seek your consent and the general of Members present to move a Motion for amendments to be taken in the Committee of Supply on the Supplementary Estimates of Expenditure for FY2020/2021 so as to increase the sums to be allocated for Heads S, V and Z shown in the Order Paper Supplement of today.

In his Ministerial Statements on 26 March 2020 and 6 April 2020, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance has explained the need to provide increased funds to support additional measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The amendments to the Heads of Expenditure taken in the Committee of Supply will allow the House to vote on the additional funds required for these measures.
