The Chairman: Before I move on, Minister of State Sun, you have a clarification to make?

The Minister of State for Home Affairs (Ms Sun Xueling): Mr Chairman, I would like to clarify a statement I had made in response to the supplementary question raised by Mr Vikram Nair earlier at the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Committee of Supply (COS) proceedings.

The Chairman: Go ahead.

Ms Sun Xueling: I had said there was a decrease in scam losses on Carousell by about 10% and on Facebook Marketplace by about 60%.

I would like to clarify that I had meant that over the course of six months in 2024, the number of e-commerce scams decreased by about 10% on Carousell and by about 60% on Facebook Marketplace. I had actually mentioned the same figures in my COS speech but subsequently, in my response to Mr Vikram Nair, I think I had not been clear enough and I had misspoken. So, I would like to put this on record.
