Clarification by Minister for National Development
Ministry of National DevelopmentSpeakers
Summary
This clarification concerns the redevelopment of the Gillman Barracks site as detailed by Minister for National Development Desmond Lee. Minister for National Development Desmond Lee noted that the site has served interim purposes since the 1990s and existing tenancies will progressively expire by 2030. Following these expirations, the government intends to redevelop the area for both residential and commercial uses. Minister for National Development Desmond Lee issued a factual correction to clarify that the site will be redeveloped and that engagement with existing tenants will continue in the interim. This statement ensures that the official record accurately reflects the timeline for future housing and commercial plans for the location.
