2 Ms He Ting Ru asked the Prime Minister and Minister for Finance (a) what was the annual total value and number of green and sustainability linked loans originated by financial institutions in Singapore over the past five years; (b) what proportion of these loans represent lending to new corporate and small- and medium-sized enterprise in each year; and (c) whether the Ministry can provide a breakdown by size of borrower.
Mr Gan Kim Yong (for the Prime Minister): A total of 261 green, social, sustainability and sustainability-linked loans, worth S$137.3 billion, were taken up by Singapore companies between 2020 and 20241. The Monetary Authority of Singapore does not have a breakdown based on the size of borrower, including small- and medium-sized enterprises.
