Data on Applications for and Approval Rates of Permanent Residency by Singapore Citizens for Aged Parents from 2020 to 2025

36 Ms Lee Hui Ying asked the Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs (a) what has been the annual number of applications for Permanent Residence by a Singapore citizen for an aged parent; and (b) the respective approval rate for such applications from 2020 to 2025.

Mr K Shanmugam: From 2020 to 2025, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) processed an annual average of 1,900 applications for Permanent Residence (PR) from Singapore Citizens for their aged parents. An average of 1% were approved.
