Availability of Overseas Experience for Students of Autonomous Universities

10 Mr Fadli Fawzi asked the Minister for Education (a) whether the Ministry monitors the availability of overseas experiences to students of autonomous universities through programmes, such as the National University of Singapore Overseas Colleges programme; (b) if so, whether such availability has decreased over the past five years; and (c) what are the reasons for any such decreases.

Mr Desmond Lee: The autonomous universities (AUs) offer their students meaningful overseas exposure through programmes, such as academic exchanges, immersions and internships. The availability of such opportunities declined sharply during the COVID-19 pandemic, but has since recovered to pre-pandemic levels.
